Teach you to change the oil filter correctly
The engine oil should be changed regularly to ensure that it is within the acceptable range. Regular oil change is the top priority of vehicle maintenance.

Means of preparation
- Enough new oil: check your user manual to select the appropriate SAE viscosity, API performance and the amount of oil required.
- A new oil filter element: most vehicles use rotating oil filter elements of different models and sizes. (check your user manual and select the appropriate model and size)
- Machine filter wrench: This is a necessary tool when changing the oil filter.
- Gloves: cotton gloves are required. Wear gloves to prevent skid first and scald second.
- Waste oil basin: waste oil basin must be used to prevent oil from flowing everywhere. Suggestion: put a plastic bag on the basin to facilitate the disposal of waste engine oil and make the basin cleaner.
- A funnel and a wooden wedge. (these two items are not necessary, and it's best to have them)
- Jack: I brought it when I picked up the car.
- Wrench: 15mm wrench.
Replacement procedure
Vehicle preparation
Run the engine to operating temperature. Then jack up the vehicle with a jack, pull up the handbrake and squeeze the front wheel with a wooden wedge.
Drill into the chassis to see the situation (please be sure to understand the special safety precautions mentioned in your user manual first).
Drain the old oil
Use a 15mm wrench to loosen a little oil plug screw counterclockwise. Don't screw too much. At this time, put the basin with plastic bag under the screw.
After placing the basin, continue to screw the screws by hand. When dropping oil bit by bit, be careful to screw out the screws to avoid being scalded by hot oil. (maintenance is recommended after cooling the car)
Remove the oil filter element
When the oil flow is almost the same, you can use the filter wrench to remove the filter. Open the oil cover on the engine cover and unscrew the oil filter element counterclockwise with the filter element wrench.
Screw out the oil filter element from the engine compartment, taking care not to touch the hot exhaust manifold. There is still a little residual oil in the machine filter at this time. Be careful not to drip everywhere.
Preparatory work before installation of oil filter element
- Vertically mounted oil filter element
It is connected to the oil pump through an oil delivery pipe. In this installation mode, it is generally recommended that the user replace the filter and fill the filter element with oil.
If the new filter is not filled with engine oil, air resistance will be generated inside the new filter element, resulting in a short time of lack of engine oil lubrication inside the machine when landing, which will cause wear of structural parts.
The advantage of vertical installation is that the filter element has better sealing performance and there is little oil leakage.
- Transversely mounted oil filter element
It is directly connected to the oil pump without oil delivery pipe. This design will not produce air resistance inside the filter when filling the oil tank with oil.
The filter element does not need to be filled with engine oil in advance before installation. When new engine oil is injected into the oil tank, the engine oil filter element can be directly filled with engine oil.
Fill in new oil
Above the engine, you will see the cover with the word "oil". Open the oil cover, insert the funnel and fill a certain amount of oil, and pull out the dipstick to determine whether it has been fully installed. Then close the oil cover and wipe off the spilled oil.
Start the engine for a few minutes
Then close it and check the dipstick again to determine whether the oil level is appropriate. Finally, check whether there is oil leakage at the bottom of the vehicle.
Dispose of used oil
Finally, in terms of safety and environmental protection, this is the most important step, which is to correctly deal with the old oil or waste oil discharged from vehicles.
Waste oil is very toxic to the environment, so the safe treatment of waste oil is extremely important.
It is suggested that you can put the waste oil in a sealed container and consult the local garage for safe disposal methods. It is possible that the garage near you can recycle the waste oil and recycle it or dispose of it safely.
