Management and maintenance knowledge of fuel water separator

Before using the fuel water separator, understand the startup, operation, and maintenance requirements of the separator according to the use and maintenance instructions of the product.

Inspection and preparation for startup

1. The consent of the bridge shall be obtained before using the oil-water separator for drainage

2. Check whether the circuit installation of the oil-water separator and the steering of the supporting pump is normal

3. Supply water to the oil-water separator and open the top air valve to let the air escape

4. Check whether there is any leakage on the water inlet and outlet system of the oil-water separator

Precautions during operation

1. Adjust the valve opening of the drainage water pipeline to maintain the pressure in the separator, to facilitate the drainage of dirty oil in the separator

2. Observe whether the pressure gauge, thermometer, and other indicating instruments are normal

3. Observe the treated drainage water quality and the working condition of the oil concentration alarm

4. After discharge, continue to inject clean water for 15min and clean the separator

5. After stopping the pump, close the inlet and outlet valves to avoid the loss of clean water in the cylinder and reduce the oxidation and corrosion of the inner wall

6. Each time the oil-water separator is used, the discharge shall be recorded in the oil record book

Maintain

1. Clean the filter regularly and open the drain valve at the bottom of the separator to remove sediment and impurities at the bottom

2. Clean the separating elements inside the separator in time, and do not clean the inner wall and elements of the separator with a cleaning agent

3. In case of failure, find out the cause and replace the failed coalescing element in time

Internal corrosion protection

1. Internal anti-corrosion of small oil-water separator

When crude oil was just extracted from underground, the temperature was relatively high. Due to the existence of acid gas, crude oil (oil, water, and gas mixture) was very corrosive. How to prevent high-temperature corrosion has always been a subject. After 2005, high-temperature anti-corrosion polymer composites have become a major method of high-temperature anti-corrosion. As an efficient, cheap, and high-performance oil-water separator protection technology, they are trusted by enterprises. Polymer composites have obvious advantages in this regard. High-temperature performance exceeds general coating technology, corrosion resistance often exceeds coatings with the same temperature resistance, and wear resistance, is unmatched by other coating systems.

2. Internal anti-corrosion of large oil-water separator

The fuel water separator is made of ordinary steel. If it is not sprayed, it will soon be corroded, because there is sulfur and water in the crude oil, and the temperature is relatively high, flowing, impact and corrosion. The general coating is not good. If it is made of stainless steel, the cost is too high. The thickness of the coating can make it more wear-resistant. When spraying other coatings to this thickness, it takes 2-3 layers or even more, and it takes more than 5 days. This is not only a problem of construction efficiency but also a problem of quality and service life.
